Sales pick up in North Aurora
North Aurora was one of just a few neighborhoods to see an increase in sales during the first quarter. The neighborhood is one of the smaller condo markets in the Chicago suburbs, but enjoyed a 50 percent jump in sales during the quarter.
According to data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of 16 condos were sold in the neighborhood during the first quarter, up from 11 units sold during the same period last year.
The increase in demand helped keep prices in positive territory for condos in North Aurora. The average sales price rose by an impressive 10 percent from the same period in 2007, and could continue to rise as the neighborhood enjoys a steady market supply of condos for sale.
The average turnover time posted a slight increase during the quarter, but not enough to put downward pressure on prices in the neighborhood. It now takes an average of 108 days to find a buyer, up from 102 days a year ago.
